Hi, I’m Irina — a food and travel photographer based near Toronto.
I create editorial-quality imagery and long-form travel content for hotels, restaurants, and tourism brands. Before going independent, I spent nine years working inside the travel industry itself — which means I understand your business from the operator’s side, not just the camera’s.
My photography style is chiaroscuro: dramatic light, deep shadow, and a strong sense of place. My travel writing is practical, well-researched, and built to rank.
My background
I came to photography through travel, not the other way around.
I spent nine years in the travel industry, handling the unglamorous side of the business — logistics, bookings, the details that make or break a trip. I picked up a camera seriously in 2017, and for years the two ran side by side: booking the rooms by day, learning to photograph them on my own time. That overlap shapes how I work with hospitality partners now. I know what a property needs in shoulder season versus peak. I know a hotel’s marketing team is small and busy. I know the difference between an image that looks nice and an image that actually sells a room.
What I do
Food photography — Editorial and commercial still life, restaurant and menu imagery, ingredient stories, recipe features. Shot on Canon, lit with studio strobe, finished with focus stacking where the detail demands it.
Travel photography & content — Hotels, interiors, destinations, and the food scene around them. Full stories, not just photo sets.
Long-form blog features — SEO-optimized travel and food articles published on pinetreeca.com, with real research behind them.
Short-form video — Vertical video for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts, designed to travel further than a static post.
Stock & licensing — My work is licensed through Adobe Stock, Envato, and Dreamstime, and used by brands worldwide.
Digital products — Original art for Samsung The Frame TV and design files for makers, sold through my Etsy shops.
